The model, your files and your history stay on your disk. Nothing is fetched at startup and nothing is checked at runtime.
A licence is a short signed string you paste in once. Your machine verifies it against no server at all, so it keeps working if this shop does not.
There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to lose. Pay, paste the licence, done — and we never learn your name unless you write to us.
Desk, laptop and the spare. One purchase covers all three; there is no seat management because there is no server to manage it on.
