Privacy policy — DT Life browser extension
Last updated 20 August 2026. This policy covers the DT Life browser extension for Chrome. The desktop application has its own terms on the legal page.
The short version. The extension reads a page only when you ask it to, sends what it read to the copy of DT Life running on your own computer, and sends it nowhere else. There is no account, no telemetry, no analytics, and no server of ours anywhere in the path.
What it reads, and when
When you click the toolbar icon, press Alt+Shift+D or
Alt+Shift+E, or choose one of the DT Life entries in the
right-click menu, the extension reads the text visible on the page you are
on. If you have selected some text, it reads that instead.
It does not read anything until you ask. It does not run in the background, watch what you browse, or keep a record of the pages you visit.
Where it goes
What it read is sent to the DT Life application on your own machine — by
default http://127.0.0.1:17801, an address that never leaves
your computer. The language model runs there. Drafting still works with
the network cable pulled out.
Nothing is sent to us. We operate no server that receives page content, and there is no third party in this path at all — no analytics provider, no crash reporter, no advertising network, no model API.
What is stored
Two values, in your browser's own extension storage, on your machine:
- The backend address, so the extension knows where to find the app.
- The pairing token you copy out of DT Life. It is what proves a request came from you rather than from a web page that went looking for the port. It is never transmitted anywhere except to that local address.
The extension keeps no history of pages read and no copies of the drafts it produces. Drafts live in the app, under your control, on your disk.
What we never do
- Sell or transfer your data to third parties.
- Use it for anything unrelated to drafting a reply for you.
- Use it to assess creditworthiness or for lending.
- Serve advertising, or build a profile of you.
Permissions, and why each one is there

storage | Keeps two settings on your machine: the address of your local DT Life backend, and the pairing token you paste into Options. |
contextMenus | Adds the two right-click entries, so the same actions are reachable without opening the popup. |
Access to websites | The extension has to work wherever you might need to reply, so it can run on any ordinary web page. The same access lets it restore itself into tabs that were already open when it was installed or updated — without it, every open tab stays inert until you reload it by hand. |
Remote code
There is none. All of the extension's code ships inside the package Google reviews. Nothing is fetched and executed at runtime.
Children
The extension is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone, including them.
Changes
If the extension's behaviour changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves. Material changes will also be described in the extension's listing.
